About Rachel & The Little Book
The Little Book provides writing and editing services to individuals, nonprofits, and businesses of all sizes. Primary consulting areas include copyediting, developmental editing, and structural editing; copywriting and content writing, including writing for SEO; article writing; and grant writing and editing. If you need help writing or editing basically anything, even if it doesn't fit neatly into the above categories, reach out and let's talk!
I'm Rachel Mennies, owner of The Little Book as well as a freelance writer, writing professor, and editor who thrives under a deadline. I've published two books of poetry and, when not developing content for The Little Book, I also write about food, healthcare, and creative writing publishing, among other subjects.
As an adjunct professor, I've taught creative writing, rhetoric/composition, professional and business writing, and writing pedagogy at Carnegie Mellon University, Chatham University, Penn State University, and Loyola University Chicago.
In addition to my work as an editor, poet, and educator, I'm also a budding recipe tester and home baker: a fantasy future gig would be recipe or cookbook editing.

I live in Chicago with my spouse and our greyhound, Otto.
